2-4 Cavalry Book Series
This is my bestselling military science fiction series set in both the Hammers Slammers Universe (thanks to David Drake) and also my own universe as the series progresses. Each story is in a sequence but can be read stand alone as well. Most of the stories focus on counter-insurgency warfare in the future and how the unit approaches the type of warfare with their own brand of handling business. As the series goes on, they find themselves in different situations and even a parallel universe. As the series goes on they're used as mercenaries after a ten-year war in their new dimension. Later on it is geared towards more special operations (with them being the equivalent of a MEU/SOC) type missions. The series ends at 2-4 Cavalry Story 15: In The Pit of Vipers. It is continued at a new name, C Troop, 1-5 Kommando. The unit for this series is led by a strong female lead, Lieutenant Karen Juniper, who at the series end, becomes Captain Kim Juniper. She leads the Troop through various conflicts and wins despite the odds.
